| フラワーデザインを始めたのは、学生の時。まだその言葉が耳新しい頃でした。 |
| 当時、特に冬の北海道は花材もごく限られ、きれいに作ったブーケも、帰路中に凍てつく寒さで、花びらも枯れてしまいました。 |

| そして絵を描くことが好きだったこともあり、キャンパスの平面から立体に、筆を走らせ、色を重ねていきました。 |
| 命ある自然の花のもつ優しさ、息吹き、四季折々の風情を花一輪、そして作品に表現できたら・・・。 |
| 試行錯誤を繰り返しながら、そのような花創りを目指しています。 |

| Brilliant Flower is a name of an artificial flower, which comes from its
brilliant nature. It was covered with silky surfaces made by wax coating
and thus was infused a breath of life though its glossy brightness. It was my school days that I initiated flower designing, though flower designing itself was not popular at that time in Japan. I made my earlier work, a flower bouquet, with very limited live flowers in the wintertime in Hokkaido, and the petals of the works withered by freezing cold on my way home. That was why I made up my mind to create a new style of flower art to keep complete beauty of flowers forever. I tried many kinds of materials to create an artificial flower for that purpose, and finally reached "Wax." I was fascinated by its clear brightness and made up my art style by adding colors on the wax with brushes just like painting a canvas as one of my favorite things. I wished I could express live flowers' sweetness, breath and seasonal elegance by a flower made as my artwork. I have been aiming to create such a wax flower art by trial and error. At the same time, I have been groping for the potential of wax arts not only through making artificial flowers but also through making vases and some other objects by wax.
